The former exotic dancer and Web Designer Kuala Lumpur cam girl, 28, claims the channel didn’t want her racy profile still active as the dating series was a ‘family show’.

Having her say: Megan Barton Hanson has revealed her annoyance that ITV forced her to get rid of OnlyFans ahead of appearing on Love Island
After deleting it for the show back in 2018 and a short time afterwards, she got it back and now continues to offer racy, X-rated content to her paying subscribers.
She said on the podcast: ‘I had OnlyFans before Love Island but ITV told me it was a family show so I begrudgingly had to get rid of it.
‘I was annoyed as being on TV would have made me so much money on it. Now I just do topless on it rather than completely naked but I think it’s a great platform.
‘I was worried to get it back but then I did talks across the country saying ‘be proud of sex work’ but I wasn’t even on it anymore so I was being a hypocrite.

I love doing it and now I feel empowered even though TV producers told me not to do it.’
She also discussed having to keep her bisexuality quiet during the auditions for the show.
During her first chat with producers Megan told them she liked men and women and claims she didn’t get a call back.
However the year after when she auditioned a second time she didn’t mention her bisexuality and was cast in the fourth series of the popular ITV show.
Hot stuff: Speaking on the Smut Drop podcast with hosts Jackie Adedeji and Miranda Kane, Megan expressed her irritation at the decision as she would have made lots of money from it due to shooting to fame on the TV show
She said on the podcast: ‘It was hard to keep my bisexuality quiet. The second time I auditioned they let me in when I hadn’t mentioned to the producers that I liked girls.’
MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.
During the candid podcast chat she also discussed her thoughts on sex work and told how she believes it is the ‘bravest’ job you can do.
The blonde beauty explained: ‘It’s an incredibly brave thing to do as a man or a woman because there is so much shame and stigma around anyone that works in the sex industry.
‘Be it OnlyFans or porn you just get tarred with this brush of ‘you must have had a rough childhood you must not be academic, what a shame you’ve had to scrape the barrel to make money’.
Old times: Megan formerly worked as an exotic dancer at Southend strip club Sunset before finding fame on the hugely popular ITV2 show (pictured at the club)
‘It’s so wrong and so old fashioned. So many people in the sex industry are so intelligent and business minded. Certain TV channels won’t work with me now.’
She later discussed the double standards in dating and said that women are judged more harshly for having multiple partners than men are.
Megan explained: ‘People see it as me failing if a relationship ends and I can’t keep it going but really it is that I am not going to settle just because of societal pressures.
‘I don’t want to settle just as I am nearly 30, I am financially independent. Men are championed for being seen with a new woman every week but me I am the biggest slut ever.’
